# Application Service option missing

Hi,  
I have a free trial instance and I am trying to create a Client Credential Grant. According to the [Okta docs](https://developer.okta.com/authentication-guide/implementing-authentication/client-creds), I should be able to create a new app and select its type as Service. There is no Service type in my list of options. Hence is this deprecated or not available in a trial?

The closest I could find was to create an app which uses a common user credential for all users…

Hi @webcyberrob,

Did you create a developer trial account on [developer.okta.com](http://developer.okta.com)?  
If so, you should see a “Developer Console” view when you login to your account.  
From there you should be able to go to Applications -\> Add Application and select “Service” which should give you a screen as shown below -

Please check whether you created a free developer account ([https://developer.okta.com/signup/](https://developer.okta.com/signup/)) or an IT product account ([https://www.okta.com/free-trial/](https://www.okta.com/free-trial/))
