Deleting an account makes that session unable to log in with other valid accounts

Hey!

We are using Okta Sign In widget with Angular 4. We use the widget by importing OktaSignIn from @okta/okta-signin-widget then creating a new instance and then running

oktaWidget.renderEl({el: '#okta-login-container'}, (response) => {
  if (response.status === 'SUCCESS') {
    response.session.setCookieAndRedirect(this.authService.ssoUrl);
  }
});

Almost everything is working fine, the only issue we have is the following: after an admin deletes an user from our app and Okta, and the user gets notified and logged out, the cookie on the client’s Okta domain is not updated / deleted, and every request the client sends after that gets a 404 error. We tried every possible Endpoint with no luck, and deleting the cookies from our Okta domain (like our-site.okta.com) automatically makes it work again.

I was able to reproduce this several times by creating an user -> logging in with that user -> deleting it -> wait until our app invalidates the app session -> attempt to login again with a valid account (or do any other session action) -> fails with a 404 response.

I wanted to know if you had any work around available or are planning to fix this soon, as it looks like a bug, unless we should be doing something differently to unblock this session.

Thanks!
