# Embedded Signin Widget Input Error Messaging

I’m using the Embedded Sign-In Widget on our website and need to configure different error messages for the username and password fields during the account creation flow.

The only option I’ve found in the [login.properties file](https://github.com/okta/okta-signin-widget/blob/master/packages/%40okta/i18n/src/properties/login.properties) is `model.validation.field.blank`, which applies to all inputs when left blank.

Is there a way to customize error messages specifically for the username and password fields? Any guidance or examples would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

It looks like this is not achievable with the i18n properties. You might want to look into using [afterRender](https://github.com/okta/okta-signin-widget?tab=readme-ov-file#afterrender) to achieve this.
