# User info using StateToken

Hi all,

I am new to Okta. I have scenario where I have StateToken available. Is it possible to retrieve user info based on the StateToken? I just need the user email to send an email notification.

Hi @danish

Depending on the current transaction state, you can use the [Get Transaction State](https://developer.okta.com/docs/api/resources/authn#get-transaction-state) API to get details about the stateToken, including user details.
