"Invalid token provided" with API token calls

Hi,

Environment: two trial okta spaces, both have similar configurations. Both used by the same way, including access by api calls with okta api-token.

Problem: since dec-03 one trial okta got issue with API calls - error “Invalid token provided“. Nothing has changed in configurations. Tried:

  • create new token
  • create new superadmin and then create new token under it

Problem still exists. Problem is reproducible with the simple curl calls, so is not related to an SDK issue. Any suggestions?

Error:

Okta GET request for app ‘XXXXXXXsstx0qppU6697’ failed. URL: https://trial-3333333.okta.com/api/v1/apps/0oascudsstx0qppU6697. Status: 401 UNAUTHORIZED. Response: {“errorCode”:“E0000011”,“errorSummary”:“Invalid token provided”,“errorLink”:“E0000011”,“errorId”:“oaeWzNTHQKKR8OqNmek821YOQ”,“errorCauses”:}. API URL configured: https://trial-3333333.okta.com.

Hi,

Could you check once again to see if you are still seeing the same issue? If you are, could you please provide a screenshot of the error?

Hi, I have re-created the token just now - the result is the same:

errorCode":“E0000011”,“errorSummary”:“Invalid token provided”,“errorLink”:“E0000011”,“errorId”:“oae5COzTOATTLyPtA2oHB2tNg”,“errorCauses”:}

Today our second trial-okta (https://trial-4600364-admin.okta.com/) got the same issue - connect by API does not work. API token shown as active, user which has created the tiken can login to admin console.

OKTA team - any suggestions?

We are currently investigating this internally

Are you able to access the Admin console for both of these orgs?

Yes, I’m able to login, regenerate token, create new user, review logs etc. Also, all created applicationas are working - federated user can login. In general - all good, but any API token cannot be used for connect anymore.

I am also facing the same issue with my account (https://trial-4810100-admin.okta.com/), user create request is failing with invalid token provided.

{“errorCode”:“E0000011”,“errorSummary”:“Invalid token provided”,“errorLink”:“E0000011”,“errorId”:“oae-9mfH_0cT9KKo4yVTeZ_8Q”,“errorCauses”:}’

The request was working till yesterday, but started failing today. I tried generating new tokens as well but still no luck.

FYI: I am generating tokens with Super Admin privileges, thus the operation should go through.

Do we have any update on how to resolve this?

i was not able to solve it anyhow - forced to register new “okta-integratior“ - same scripts are working fine with these new instances.

@vk-giri Any update on this issue? Can you share the workaround to resolve the “Invalid token provided“ error?

@umaya can you re-test and let me know if its working for you now?

@andrea I have retested. Its still not working

@umaya Can you provide your org URL so I can ensure the fix has been applied to the correct tenant?

We are facing this issue with our trial account as well.

Our OIDC apps are all working fine, our users are active (including super admin), but our API tokens stopped working and are returning this same invalid token provided error. Creating new tokens does not solve the issue.

Our Okta org URL is trial-4567740.okta.com. Can you help us resolve this @andrea?

@adventureweekly091 Done. Please re-test

I’m facing the same issue “invalid token provided error” with my trial account. Okta org URL is https://trial-7401504.okta.com. Can you help us resolve this @andrea?

@carolina.roncaglia Done!
