I need some integrations about databases for clients in my Okta tenant, I know, Okta doesn’t have a connector for database native app, just a server I need to contract a license on premise.
If I’d like to use databases in okta workflows the same card api post, api get, anything, is it possible?
I’d like to submit this idea for okta, create connector database in okta workflows, it’s better and faster different than Sailpoint with java…
Hi @thiago.mouro: welcome to the forum!
If the database has an API, you can use the API Connector card to connect to it.
The Understanding Okta Workflows Connectors blog post will show you the options to call APIs in Workflows.
You can submit an Okta Idea here.
In Sailpoint, on the apps and integrations screen, there is a connector for any type of database using a jar file, whether it be PostgreSQL, SQL, MySQL, etc., and then you can make SQL queries to read, create users, all using queries from that database with an admin username and password, and mix it with Java. Sailpoint then uses Java, which is terrible for non-developers.
My idea would be:
If Okta on the apps screen in the SSO module does not connect natively to the database like Sailpoint, it would be like having a smart card for SQL, where you connect to the client’s database with an admin username and password for that database, and through cards you can do select, insert, update, delete, custom queries such as inner join, full join, etc. to set up a logic using the developer workflow cards to create users in the legacy system that uses this database. In other words, it’s amazing. Can you submit this idea to OK?
I’m from Ysec, an Okta partner in Brazil, and I’d love to contribute.
We recommend the customer to submit an Okta Ideas.
