Which groups are included in a group attribute statement

When I set up SAML integration for an application and configure a “Group Attribute Statement,” will this return all the groups to which the authenticating user belongs, or only those groups to which the authenticating user belongs AND are associated with the Okta application?

it will return all groups that match the filter and the user is a member of, regardless if the groups are assigned to the application.
