I have an applicaton uses Okta for authentication. Currently it’s enabled for 2FA authentication with Phone SMS OTP.
Like to enhance the functionality to access E-mail also as one of the other option to get the OTP. Able to achieve the same by creating new Authentication Policies with access option of “Authentication method chain” as Password + Phone - SMS / E-mail. But always like to have Phone SMS as default option once user enters password. But Okta always gives both option to select any one instead of default option of Phone. How to configure Okta to provide both option with default option of Phone SMS? Please help.
I’m not sure I understand what you are trying to do here. Are you looking to force all users to authenticate via phone SMS?
If a user is enrolled in multiple authenticators that meet the requirements for the sign on policy, they will be able to log in using any of these allowed authenticators (though typically they will be first prompted for their last used factor)
