Unexpected SCIM Password Reset After Import

We recently configured a SCIM API Integration using AIW. Approximately 6 hours after importing our users, all of them received password resets via the SCIM PATCH mechanism. These were not requested resets, but do appear in the Okta System Log with ‘Okta System (SystemPrincipal)’ as the actor.

  • Why did the Okta system issue these password syncs, when they were not requested by anyone?
  • Why were password resets issued 6 hours after import?
  • How can I prevent password resets for future imported users?
