Changes Are Coming to the Okta Developer Edition Organizations

(edited post with updated answer)

Thank you for the feedback! I’m going through the signup flow looking the exact “on this device” wording in order to escalate the issue, but I’m not seeing it. After I click the emailed link and set a password, it tells me that the next step is Okta Verify with the text “Okta Verify is an authenticator app, installed on your phone or computer, used to prove your identity
Used for access”.

On the following Okta Verify setup screen, I see the text “Set up Okta Verify
Click “Open Okta Verify” on the browser prompt to set up Okta Verify.
Didn’t get a prompt?
Set up Okta Verify
Don’t have Okta Verify? Download here
Or set up Okta Verify on a mobile device

This presents me with the 3 options – use the system’s Okta Verify, setup Okta Verify, or use the mobile app. When I click the mobile device link, I’m presented with instructions on how to install Okta Verify from the app store if needed, as well as the QR code to scan in Okta Verify.

I’m not seeing any text about having to use Okta Verify on the same device – if we’ve got that anywhere, could you help me find it so I can escalate it as a bug?

All Integrator Free Plan accounts are on Okta Identity Engine. If you need an Okta Classic platform for staging purposes, you can contact the Okta representative who manages your account to explore your options. And for now, you can optionally use Okta Verify on your PC for your integrator account for a sneak peak at what using Okta will be like after your production account’s OIE migration!
