I’ve tried to create a okta developer account with email and password. I can get all the way to the first login after email verification but the login fails with the error “unable to sign in” at Okta Developer
Next I tried to create a developer account with the github SSO login. Okta validates and connects my github account then I get redirected to a webpage with a 500 internal server error.
New account creation through Google SSO does work with a google email that has not previously attempted to sign up.
My previous signups both SSO for github, google and email sign ups are still returning HTTP 500: Internal Server Error and unable to sign in respectively
So all the emails I’ve previously used are unable to be used for developer accounts at okta. Is there some way I can request those emails be removed as accounts so I can use them?
I was able to sign-in with a new email address, but my actual address - which I tried to use earlier - is not working. It would be great if it can be expunged from the system for me to retry signing up with that one (it’s the same one as the email I registered to the forum).
@galb@rreams Our engineering team is looking into the best way to remediate any email addresses. I’ll look to update this thread once I have an update from them, but I’m unable to provide an ETA at this time.
If you need an org before that work is completed, we would recommend signing up with a different email address if/when possible. If it helps, if your email is through Google Workspace, you can use plus addressing (e.g. providing the email address user+okta@example.com instead of your ‘proper’ address of user@example.com) to ensure that Okta receives a unique email address but you still receive the activation email
