PII data in user profile

Hi,

I added a new custom attribute in User Profile. I marked User permission “Hide” on this new attribute. Here is my question: is this attribute’s data encrypted in Okta? Or this is just preventing users from view this attribute?

If this attribute is not encrypted, what is the proper way of asking Okta to encrypt the attribute?
