Query regarding Resource Owner Password Flow Support in Native Applications

Hi,

As per the Okta Configuration to Setup Resource owner Password Flow, We need to Select the Native Application (iOS and Android).

  1. Does this means that Resource Owner Password flow is support only for Mobile Applications.
  2. If Point 1 is true, Does the SDK blocks the Web application traffic alone and can you please share details on how is it done.
  3. Can we use this Resource Owner configured Application for Web Applications.
  4. If we cannot use the Resource Owner Password Flow for web applications using this configuration, Is there any other configuration can be done to support Web Application.

Never tried, but I don’t think there is any blocking. You should be able to create an app and initiate the flow from Postman or any other tool to generate HTTP calls.

Those pre-built types in Okta are just created for the convenience, I assume.
