Slack Connection with Service Account

Hey all,

Does anyone know if its possible to somehow create a connection to slack with a service account? I have tried but it just configured the connection for the slack instance again.

Im stuck.

Do you perform the following steps:

  1. Create a connection to Slack in Workflows
  2. Sign into Slack with the service account when prompted
  3. Select a Slack workspace
  4. Finish creating a connection.

Is the connection created with (your) regular user account, and not the service account?

Hey Max! We met at the community meetup last year at Oktane!

I did, but actually I am not being prompted to login. I just get the approval check for the slack app. What can I do to trigger the login prompt?

It likely picks up your current/regular Slack account. You can sign out of Slack or try to create a connection from an Incognito window.

You had it right. I was able to auth once I was totally logged out of my personal account.
