Update custom profile attribute on user account from AD

I am encountering an error trying to update a custom profile attribute on the user model. The error is below. I am trying to do this using the Okta.sdk nuget package. Is there a way to allow a custom attribute in Okta to be updated even though the user is from AD and is synced periodically?

‘Operation failed because user profile is mastered under another system (403, E0000023)’

Can you remove the mapping from the profile editor for that attribute from AD source?

This attribute wasn’t mapped from AD originally. We added this one directly into Okta on the user profile.
