Locked out of Dev Admin Portal - 400 Error - Identity Provider: OIDC, Error Code: access_denied

I have an okta developer account. The email used to create the account is also the admin account email. When I am trying to log-in with this account it says Unable to sign in. When I try to reset the password for this account , I get an email like this
These are the error code I receive sometimes on the login portal
400 Error - Identity Provider: OIDC, Error Code: access_denied
The user accounts I setup still work but I can’t get access any of the admin settings.

oktaproblem

I cannot raise an issue because it is my admin account which is locked.

I have tried things given here
https://support.okta.com/help/s/question/0D54z00008OaSrICAV/locked-out-of-dev-admin-portal-400-error-identity-provider-oidc-error-code-accessdenied?language=en_US

How did you create the org originally? Were you authenticating through a Social auth provider (e.g. Google or Github)?

Also, you can always raise a support case when you have trouble accessing your Okta org by calling in: Contact us | Okta

@andrea I have the same issue. My dev account was created yesterday and now i cannot login or reset the password.

I have created this account by using the email id. Also i cannot open a case because that requires an admin account. I am locked out of the admin account.

We are only able to complete an unlock of an admin account via a support case. If you cannot log into your account, you will need to call our support phone number, which is listed on the Contact Us page

Hey, i just called the support number. The employee told me that support for free trial developer accounts is not longer available via phone and i have to ask in the community for help about this, since the problem is related to a free trial developer account. According to the employee this “policy” change is active about a week or so. So who can help us?

@andrea can you help?

@msmm Nobody seems to respond. Still struck at the same place.

Sorry for the delay on here, I’m looking into this internally.

@msmm When you set up your Dev Org, did you use Sign In with Google or Github? Are you no longer able to authenticate through your chosen provider?

@aman If you also set-up your org with a Google or Github Account, you will not be able to reset your password (as your credentials only exist at that provider, not within Okta). Are you able to get into your org at all (e.g. to the End User Dashboard), or are you having trouble accessing a specific app (access_denied failures tend to point to an issue accessing an app)?

@andrea
I signed up just with my email address on this page: Okta Developer
See button “Sign up free for Developer Edition”.

Sorry for the delay everyone! Looks like there was some internal confusion when we changed our support policy regarding Developer Free orgs, but while you won’t be able to get 1:1 assistance with general integration issues or questions, we should still be able to help you regain access to your org.

@msmm and @aman please try reaching out to support again via the phone number.

Apologies again for the delay getting back to you all, you were not forgotten!
